Z80 Computer Time

So one of the things that I want to do is create my own computer from scratch.

There are several SBC (single board computer) designs on the internet and the unofficial Z80 webpage is a great place to start if you want to create your own. Another awesome place is hackaday.io .

I seen a lot of examples and I’m going to try and mod\marry a lot of them together to get what I want. I’ll use KiCad to create designs. There is other FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) like Fritzing ; however, I found it very buggy and crashed…a lot..

Here is my current parts list:

Part Explanation Use
Zilog Z80 Z80 CPU Main CPU
Atmel AT28C256 256K (32K x 8)Paged Parallel EEPROM BIOS\ROM
Hitachi HM6116LP-4 2048-word X 8bit High Speed CMOS Static RAM Main RAM
Motorola MC6850CP Asynchronous communications interface adapter Serial I\O

More parts will be needed (i.e. memory bank separator and other accessories that I’ll want to add) and I’ll try to update this list as needed.
